It?s been a busy week in the NFL as numerous teams have already parted ways with some of their players and while the Kansas City Chiefs recently released wide receiver Steve Breaston?it seems like there?s a chance he may already find a new home soon.
One of the top NFL rumors this week involves Breaston possibly ending up with the Pittsburgh Steelers thanks to his connection with Todd Haley?who happens to be the offensive coordinator for the team. Breaston played under Hailey during his time with the Arizona Cardinals and Chiefs?leaving many to believe the two could reunite in Pittsburgh considering how well they worked together.
The Steelers could be in need of extra help at wide receiver considering the situation with Mike Wallace, but whether or not Breaston would be the right option is a debatable considering his lack of production last season. After catching 108 passes from 2010-11, Breaston was limited to just seven catches with the Chiefs last season in the 10 games he made appearances in?so that may be a reason of concern for Pittsburgh.
They may be in need of help at wide receiver, but the Steelers may want to wait it out a bit longer to see what other options may be available down the road. Then again, the argument can be made that Breaston?s numbers were down due to a lack of passing game last season in Kansas City?so this may be a decision the Steelers take their time with.
